Bodegas Bleda
Jumilla, Spain
Bodegas Bleda is located in the D.O. of Jumilla in Spain’s southeast region of “Levant.” The vineyards are at
elevations that range from 1,400-1,600’ about 60-miles inland from the Mediterranean and include 230 hectares.
They are jointly owned by Mr. Roque Bleda, Ms. Basu Jimenez, and Mr. Juan Jimenez and have been
family owned since 1935. They were the first winery in the D.O. of Jumilla to market its wine in the bottle.
Vines range in age from 12-45 years and are planted in soil that is for the most part dark limestone. The soil
surface is of medium permeability and has a great capacity to retain what little moisture is available naturally.
The climate is tempered by its proximity to the Mediterranean: rainfall is scarce, and summers can be e
xtremely hot and dry with temperatures sometimes rising to over 100°F.
Montesinos, Macabeo 2006
One of the three grapes used in making Cava, this varietal is seldom seen as a stand alone wine. Fermented only in stainless steel it offers a burst of rich, soft fruit reminiscent of apples and pears. Lemon zest with crisp acidity complete the tasting experience of this wonderful wine. Great with shellfish and other light seafood.
Montesinos, Monastrell-Tempranillo, 2006
A blend of 50/50, the two varieties are harvested and fermented separately. The wine sees no oak that allows the finest qualities of the fruit. This is a superb example of the abundant fruit and light spice that is quintessentially Jumilla.
Montesinos, Monastrell 2006
The qualities of this wine are much more subtle and complex that those of the blend. Black current and plum seem to dominate the flavor, and the finish is complex and reserved with a top note of cherry. The wine sees no oak that allows the finest qualities of the fruit.
Montesinos, Crianza 2003
A blend of 90% Monastrell and 10% Tempranillo, this wine sees 10-months in American and French oak barrels. Notes of vanilla, oak spice, and candied cherry on the nose, with wilder notes of tobacco and smoked meat.
88 Points - “Rich and sweet cherry supported by gentle tannins.” - International Wine Cellar
Divus, 2004
An extraordinary blend of 95% Monastrell and 5% Merlot, this wine is of immense depth and long lingering finish. Notes of jammy blackberry, vanilla, and spice are abundant in the nose. Rich tones of cedar and cherry abound and finishing with solid tannins and a lingering note of vanilla.

Rías Baixas, Spain DO:
Located in northwestern Spain in the region known as Galicia, this lush land is home to Rias, which are deep, wide inlets of water that stretch miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean. The southern group of these rías are known in Galician as the “Rías Baixas”. Weather conditions in the Rías Baixas are generally cool, windy and rainy. Vines must be trained high and open to allow winds to dry them out.
Paco & Lola:
Located in the heart of the sub-region of the Salnes Valley with more than 200 hectares of vineyards. The Salnes Valley is known as the premiere growing area for Albariño in Rias Baixas. The soils of our vineyards are a mix of rocky granite and alluvial deposits. Only 30% of the overall vineyard production is selected for the final blend of Paco & Lola.
