Fifteen-year-old vineyards producing a deliciously light, fruity, no malolactic, stainless steel fermentation, highly acidic white wine made from 70% Vermentino and 30% Grenache Gris. Harvested by hand from high terraces of quaternary grave and sandstone pebbles. Great with seafood and white sauce based cuisine. It is full-bodied, round, intensely fruity (raspberry, red currant), with peppery overtones. It is long on the finish.” – Ronn Wiegand, MW/MS, Restaurant Wine Magazine 2004: 90-91 Points - “With American Jess Jackson’s first venture into Bordeaux, he has shown that, along with his top-flight French winemaker, Pierre Seillan (of Vérité fame), he is capable of achieving immediate success. This is a relatively hot micro-climate, and the vineyard is well-situated on both limestone and sand, several miles from Pavie and Larcis Ducasse. The 2003 was a good beginning, and the 2004 Lassègue, a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, is meant for patient connoisseurs. There are 4,500 cases of this deep ruby/purple-colored Saint-Émilion. Its powerful, sweet nose of cassis, licorice, smoke, and damp Earth is followed by a medium-bodied, tannic effort that is best cellared for 4-5 years. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020+.” - Robert Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate 2005: 90-92 Points - “This tannic, backward, structured, sizeable Saint-Émilion exhibits a steely backbone, huge tannins, and equally huge extract. Reserved, weighty, and rich on the palate, it is a good choice for young readers who have the time to wait for it to come into focus and shed some of its tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2030. P.S. DOMAINE LIGNERES
Our family's ties to the wine world can be traced back to the sixteenth century, but it was in 1957 that André and Suzette Lignères bought the Domaine. André's parents were from Moux and Fontcouverte, the two villages on either side of the estate and already had vineyards in both villages as well as a négociant business in Moux. Since then they have gradually expanded the Domaine, acquiring the most attractive terroirs bordering on the estate, particularly Las Vals, which was acquired in the ‘80s. Throughout this period the assistance of Marc Dubernet was invaluable in helping develop the Domaine's wines. Château La Baronne Blanc Corbières 2005
30% Cinsault, 30% Carignan, 30% Grenache, and 10% Syrah saigner in stainless steel tanks, with 24-hours pre-fermenting and cold maceration at 12°C (54°F) resulting in a juicy, deliciously ripe strawberry nose, yet finishes dry on the palate. Only 2,500 cases produced
The base of this red wine blend is 70% Carignan, farmed from 40-60 year old vineyards, the balance is 20% Mourvèdre and 10% Grenache. The winemaker, Stefano Chioccioli (Greve in Chianti, Italy), uses a gentle transfer method in de-stemming and crushing the grapes, this results in soft, sensual tannins, that is atypical for wines from this region. Fruit forward, yet maintains a great tannic structure, due to minimal barrel aging in one-year old oak barrels.
A white wine blend of 70% Roussanne and 30% Grenache Gris, farmed on old terraces with calcareous-clay soils covered by sandstone pebbles. Lends a fragrant orange blossom nose and medium-bodied mouth feel. Stainless steel fermentation, then 10 months in oak barrels of which 50% are new (Sequin Moreau). Only 1,000 six-pack cases produced
Harvested 100% by hand, from 20-year old vines. This Mourvèdre-based wine (77%) blended with 23% Syrah, is full of chocolate, Earth, and coffee flavors, with medium tannins. Aged for 16-months in 100% new oak from Taransaud and Seguin-Moreau. Only 630 six-pack cases produced
100% Carignane from vines planted in 1891 on Riparia Gloire 50% and Rupestris 50% in thin, calcareous gravels. The old vine characteristics of Earth, black fruit, and tobacco, with a subtle hint of nutmeg are paired with smoke, tar, and leather derived from 16-months aging in new French Oak. This is a very rare wine. Only 900 six-pack cases produced
Translated “the cabin of Pascal,” the caretaker and vineyard manager for this tiny vineyard block on a steep hillside. This unique blend is 73% Grenache, 27% Merlot grown in blue clay soils similar to those at Petrus. The wine exhibits red fruit, berries, and spice with understated cedar and cocoa notes. The silky texture and tender tannins are a result of 16-months in one to two-year old French oak barrels.
60% Carignan, 25% Mourvèdre, and 15% Syrah, is a classic Rhone blend from old vines grown in clay-calcareous grave on steep hillsides. Elements of wind and heat result in growing tiny berries with intense black fruit flavors. Aged in 50% new French oak for 16-months. This wine matches beautifully with braised and grilled meats.
Big, bold, and 100% Syrah challenges the finest from Côte-Rôtie. Earth, game, smoke, leather, and a hint of spice. Rich in hillside, aggressively-farmed tannins, and this wine is highly concentrated and suited for drinking now but will age up to 10 years. Only 880 six-pack cases produced
68% Carignan, 13% Grenace, 12% Mourvèdre, 7% Syrah
CHATEAU LASSEGUE
A sleeping estate -- those who take the road that winds from the bottom of Saint-Émilion to Saint-Étienne de Lisse, go past Lassègue, which is located near Saint-Émilion (a mile and a half away), in line with the Pavie plateau. It is said that the tradition of winemaking in Saint-Émilion goes back to Roman occupation of the area. In the fourth century, the Latin poet Ausone lived in a villa on the present site of the Grand Cru with the same name.
Lassègue 2004
Lassègue is the essence of opulent ripe and very rich Cabernet Franc with a dense Merlot character plus a hint of Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine expresses a delicacy, elegance and a high complexity. With a voluptuous, layered, and complex structure, this wine is already showing an accomplished character, which reflects the limestone and clay of the hillsides. The ornate sundials which adorn the facade of Lassègue, a beautiful seventeenth century Château, are symbols of the perfect sun exposure of our vineyard and the theme of our label.
Not a second label, Vignot is a single vineyard bottling from a unique macro-climate located within the estate. The vines that "make" Château Vignot have a surface area of about 17-acres and are located in the foothills on which the vineyard rests. The Château Vignot wine is aromatic, round, and mature. It melts in the mouth with a long finish. This wine is very rich and complex with a charming character.

CHÂTEAU dE LAUNAY
Château de Launay White, Bordeaux Blanc 2004
A classic style indicative of this region, consisting of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon. Aged for only six-months in new and one-year old French oak barrels. Light and fruity on the nose and palate, yet shows great minerality and acidity derived from limestone and clay soils. Drink alone or enjoy with shellfish and seafood cuisine. Only 583 cases produced
100% Muscadelle that has all of the richness in body and mouth feel of a Meursault. Perfumy and floral on the nose, yet the palate is creamy and soft, due to gentle stirring on the lees while ageing. This wine finishes with perfectly balanced acidity, derived from the limestone soils of its origin. An extremely rare wine. Only 750 cases produced
90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon farmed in limestone and clay from 10-year old vines. This Bordeaux blend has the ripeness of black cherries and herbaceousness of a new world Cabernet, with old world Earthiness and spice. Only 500 cases produced
This wine offers everything! A Bordeaux blend, of great value, with Merlot dominating the aroma and flavor profile. Consumer-friendly, because it is drinkable now, with soft fruit and tannins to match. This is terrific for a “by-the-glass program.”

In 1811, Charles Gabriel “de Cazanove” purchased a small grand cru estate in Avize and named it “Cazanove” in tribute to his fathers vision. At this time, only a handful of families had begun to produce Champagne, and, recognizing his limited experience, he associated with Pierre Nicolas Jouët to help run the house until 1819, when he began planting more vineyards and took over the production of the champagne himself.
Today, with the 200th anniversary of the house approaching, Champagne Charles de Cazanove is among the most successful houses in France, where 80% of the winery’s current production is sold, largely due to its long history of exceptional quality.
The Rapeneau Family
In 1925 at the age of 25, Ernest Rapeneau established a Champagne negociant company. His goal was to produce Champagne of only the highest quality, and as the years passed, he built upon his success by re-investing in premium vineyard land, including the vineyards originally planted by Charles de Cazanove in the early 1800’s. Today, the Rapeneau family is the largest independent vineyard owner and producer of Champagne in the world, with 420 acres of family owned vineyards and nearly 2000 acres under their control. In addition, the family maintains the largest collection of Champagne glassware in the world, with over 1000 unique examples of stemware used in the service of champagne.
Brut Rosé:
Pinot Noir 50%
Pinot Meunier 20 %
Chardonnay 15%
Bouzy Rouge 15%
Tasting Notes:
One of the more complex champagnes available on the market today, this wine is explosive aromatically, showing red fruits and flowers, and substantial on the palate. Still, the wine says Champagne quite clearly in its light hearted approach to the mayhem it introduces to the palate. Quick…pass the foie gras.
